Joining The American Legion

Have you decided that you would like to continue your service after leaving the service? Well there are a few ways you can do that.  You can go to and join online, but you will not be assigned to a post and you will still need to physically get a copy of your DD-214 to a post officer somewhere.  If you meet the eligibility requirements of possesing an honorable discharge with at least one day on active duty during the times specified at the bottom of the page, here are the steps to successfully join the Legion. First print off and fill out the attached Membership form:

Step by Step Guide

1. You can come in to the post in person and meet the Officers and Legionnaires at the Post and with a copy of your DD-214 you can walk out as a Legionnaire!

2. You can  scan and email the completed form along with a copy of your DD-214 at which time we will contact you personally about dues ($35.00 per yer)

3. You can mail the completed application, your DD-214 along with a check for $35.00 made payable to "The American Legion Post 560" to the follow address:
